A Poem: Humura Nturi Wenyine

Translated as:

Be comforted, you are not alone

I have raised my voice

I have come to comfort you

I have come to speak to you, children of Rwanda.

The Rwanda of yesterday is the one that gave birth to you.

I’m here to take care of you.

You are not alone, I know there are those who attack you.

They call you names that I won’t repeat now because

I am no different from them,

I only guarantee that you are not alone.

Remember what I ask you here

What have you given to be blessed?

Do not punish him by calling him inappropriate names,

Did he choose it? There you ask yourself and answer

My prayer is to be peace and to give peace.

Let me take this opportunity to root again and tell you

Whenever you feel depression, isolation, loneliness

I have come to comfort you.

My dear young people, wherever we are, let us be the catalyst for happiness.

Dear parents, let’s get together and get rid of the things they don’t want.

Look back and remember that this is another source of happiness.

I pray for our unity and that we may be blessed with our fruits.
