In Indonesia, the Mobile Arts for Peace (MAP) project was implemented in Jakarta by the university partner, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI). The project is led by the Co-Investigator, Dr Harla Octarra, partnering with local organisations, such as Child Protection Agency DKI Jakarta (LPA DKI Jakarta) and Yayasan Anak Bangsa Indonesia (YABI). It focuses on marginalised young people aged 12–24 years and involves youth facilitators, social workers, and cultural artists.
This Summary Baseline report offers an overview of MAP Indonesia Phase One (2020-2022), detailing the youth context in Indonesia, key partners, project design, and its timeline. The report also outlines the arts-based methods explored in the MAP Indonesia project, and highlights the key lessons learned from each method. Three key baseline findings were: the affordances of youth structures and improved youth participation; the learning and changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour; and approaches to informing policy.
