Claire is a Research Leader at the Institute for Social Innovation and Impact at the University of Northampton. She has over 15 years practice and research in safeguarding, child sexual exploitation, trafficking, sexual violence, youth and restorative justice. She has extensive research experience internationally, having conducted research on social impact measurement for higher education in Indonesia, collaborative research on sentencing for care experienced children in Australia and social innovation and higher education in Mexico. This includes research funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Big Lottery Fund. Claire is a member of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Ethics Committee, Health and Research Association Research Ethics Committee and the University of Northampton’s Research Ethics Committee. She is currently an Associate Editor for the international Journal of Child and Family Studies and Editorial Board Member for the international Journal of Qualitative Criminal Justice and Criminology. Claire is co-editor for the books Social Impact Measurement for a Sustainable Future: The Power of Aesthetics and Practical Implications (Palgrave, 2021) and Desistance and Children: Critical Reflections from Theory, Research and Practice (Policy Press, 2023). She was lead author of a book titled The Social Impact of Custody on Young People (Palgrave, 2019).
