Dila is experienced peace, human rights, and governance professional with diverse background. Academically, he holds an LLM in international law, MA in Journalism and M Ed in Linguistics. With his long experience of over 18 years, ranging from ICRC to UNMIN, and media to UNDP, he has practical understanding of conflict, rights, justice, societal behaviour, culture, and rule of law, among others. He has deep passion in using arts for policy advocacy and has so many experiences of having used tools such as theatre, painting, folklore, photos and documentaries in a bid to augment policy advocacy on many issues.

Currently, he is associated with UNDP’s flagship project to support Nepal’s legislative reform; aiming to ultimately contribute to Nepal’s journey to a sustainable peace that started with Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2006. As an associate researcher, Dila will provide technical inputs in the entire project entitled ‘Deuda Folklore vis-à-vis Social Transformation’; a joint endeavour of University for the Creative Arts (UCA) and Mobile for Arts (MAP) project to explore different aspects of this underrated yet powerful folklore of far west Nepal in relation to its interplay with social transformation.
