Video Introduction to YAAR in Nepal

This video presents the journey of a group of 30 young women, aged 16-24 from diverse backgrounds that came together to form the Youth Advisory Advocacy Research (YAR) forum. A young female researchers/artists group. This initiative is part of the Mobile Arts of Peace (MAP) Intergenerational Dialogue project in Nepal. The YAAR journey began with an intensive four-week training programme, where experts in education, research and theatre, led workshops that integrated arts and policy. YAAR members then visited local communities in Hetauda, Surkhet, Tikabhairab and Lalitpur where they conducted workshops with students using arts-based methods, such as image theatre, drawing, painting, etc. From these workshops, the students identified their local issues and presented them through art forms to local leaders and their community.
